Settlers have traditionally washed the wooden walls of buildings with soapy water. They do it twice a year in the period before Christmas and Easter. Thanks to this, buildings that are many years old look like new. In the vicinity of Chochołów in the glades there are places where highlanders produce sheep cheese traditional for this region of Poland. This cheese is called "Oscypek".
