Highlights
The National Holocaust Museum, located in the Hervormde Kweekschool building, offers a deep look into the Holocaust, highlighting different stories.
During the war, the nearby Crèche was used by the Nazis to collect and deport Jewish children. However, Henriëtte Pimentel, the director, managed to lead hundreds of these children to safety through the Kweekschool.
At the museum, you can explore exhibits that detail these events and honor those who risked their lives to save others. This visit provides a chance to reflect, remember and learn more about the Jewish persecution in the Netherlands.

As a high school student in New Zealand we studied the holocaust. I wish the schools in NZ and Australia would still do it now. To sit and listen to the survivors’s stories from their own lips know that most of them have passed now was truely humbling and inspiring. To see personal property and the stories behind them was heartbreaking but stands as a testament to what transpired. It’s an incredible museum.
