Highlights
This canyon trip is unique in it's accessibility to canyoneers of all skill levels, including beginners. Think scenic canyon hiking, but the hike is intermingled with exciting rappels down water features. This trip has a little bit of everything- a good workout, a chance to learn new skills, and some free-hanging on ropes to get your adrenaline pumping. And all of it nestled in a beautiful desert setting that is otherwise inaccessible to the public.
Itinerary
Tanque Verde Canyon
This trip includes 4-5 hours of guided canyoneering down the scenic Tanque Verde Canyon just outside of Tucson, AZ. After gearing up, there is a short and scenic hike to a series of rappels dropping down cascading waterfalls into pools. Water levels vary seasonally. Getting wet is typically optional unless it is directly after a heavy rainfall. All trips are hosted by AMGA-certified guides employed by Altitude Mountain Guides, based in Tucson, AZ.
