Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve

    You will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi at around 8.00 am and drive to Samburu National reserve a distance of 340 kms from Nairobi arriving at the reserve lodge for lunch and checking in. After lunch we relax before our afternoon game-drive. Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert park located in Samburu district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The park neighbors the homes of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for their remote culture, pastoral and nomadic way of life. We enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Samburu is renowned for its rare species of animals unique to the park, namely: the long necked gerenuk, Gravy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa onyx. The elusive Kenya leopard is often known to visit the park, especially in the evenings. Dinner and accommodation at Samburu Intrepids.

    Wake up early for a pre-breakfast game drive. Return to the camp for breakfast and checking out. After breakfast we drive down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley into Lake Nakuru National Park, making a stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Lake Nakuru National Park is located about 295 km from Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive at lodge in time for lunch. Relax after lunch. The afternoon is spent on another exciting game run in Lake Nakuru National Park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approximate 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. In addition, the wildlife to be found in the Park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon, waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, elands and the endangered black rhinos, white rhino. A large herd of hippos have a territory in the northern part of the lake, making for interesting game viewing. Accommodation and dinner at Great Rift valley Lodge

    Enjoy a morning game drive after breakfast and checking out. Drive out of the park driving to Lake Bogoria National Park and hot springs. Arrive at the lodge for Lunch and checking in. After lunch have some rest before proceeding for an afternoon walk to the springs of Lake Bogoria. This lake is referred to as "The healing place”. It is home to one of the largest populations of the lesser flamingoes. The lake is geo-thermally active on the western shore, with geysers and hot springs and generates boiling water. Lake Bogoria National Reserve is home of Antelope, zebras, Impala, Grant’s gazelle, buffalo, dik-dik, leopards, cheetah, hyenas, mongoose, jackal and Karakul. Dinner and accommodation at Lake Bogoria Hotel.
