- The WEST-QR Pass is available and usable throughout the year.
- The pass is valid for consecutive days, based on the purchased pass duration.
- Pass validity begins at 4:00 AM on the activation date and ends at 12:00 AM (midnight) at the end of the final valid day (Japan Standard Time).
- If the validity period expires while travelling on a train on the final day, the pass remains valid for the basic fare until the following day, provided the passenger does not exit the station.
- For applicable ticket fees, validity continues only as long as the passenger does not leave the train after the pass expires.
- Train operating schedules vary by route and service.
- No designated meeting point or pickup is required.
- Board eligible JR trains within the designated Kansai travel area using your activated WEST-QR ticket.
- Scan your boarding QR code at the compatible ticket gates when entering and exiting stations.
- There is no need to exchange your voucher for a paper rail pass.
- Train Coverage: The pass allows unlimited travel in non-reserved seats on the Limited Express HARUKA and eligible ordinary JR trains, including Special Rapid and Rapid services, within the designated free travel section.

- If your preferred dedicated HARUKA reserved-seat car is fully booked, you may use a non-reserved seat instead. Reserved seats in other cars are not permitted, and no refund will be provided for the price difference.
- Smartphone Requirement: A smartphone with an internet connection is required to use the WEST-QR ticket. If you do not have a smartphone, you may display your ticket on a companion's smartphone.
- Purchase Restrictions: This pass must be purchased through an overseas travel agency. It cannot be purchased at travel agencies in Japan or through JR-WEST ONLINE TRAIN RESERVATION.
- Ticket Changes: Before activating the pass, you may use it at any time within its permitted usability period. Tickets cannot be changed after the "Use ticket" button has been pressed or the usability period has expired.
- The number of tickets and passengers cannot be changed directly. To make such changes, you must request a refund and purchase new tickets through the original travel agency.
- Ticket changes and refunds cannot be processed at JR-West stations.

Awesome experience - buying JR pass was a breeze and app allows you to use Kris flyer miles for the purchase.
Easy to activate the pass. Point to note the JR West QR Code doesn’t offer physical tickets especially for Kyoto subway lines.
Getting e ticket also means you need data at all times. If you’re in a rural part where data gets cut off, this might bring trouble
Extremely useful, especially when arriving at night, as you don’t have to worry about rushing to purchase tickets upon arrival. My only concern when purchasing these tickets was that they needed to be linked to the JR West website. If there were any internet connectivity issues, it could potentially cause problems when accessing or scanning the QR code.
Its a QR ticket. so u need to have an internet connection everytime you use the qr. You need to refresh the qr every time you enter and exit the station.
Good price if you travel with the jr trains within the Kansai area. Beware the digital version doesn't include the extras
