Lago Sandoval
8 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedWe will leave at 9:40 am, we will take a tour of the Madre de Dios river by boat about 40 min. Once there we will hike for 1 hour in the middle of the dense rainforest and head towards Lake Sandoval, one of the largest in the National Reserve Tambopata and we will paddle boat where We will appreciate a wide variety of birds and monkeys from different species. Perhaps we will have an encounter with the endangered giant otter family (almost two meters long) and the largest alligators on record over 4 meters long. Then we will make a break for lunch, lunch consists of a typical dish of the region like Juane, lunch in the same National Reserve, in the afternoon we will return to the city of Puerto Maldonado, at 5 or 5 : 30 pm approximately we will arrive in the city. End of service.

A terrible experience. We booked an excursion to Lake Sandoval; to begin with, we set off an hour later than scheduled. Then we discovered that, apart from the two of us, the group included a (lovely) Peruvian family with an elderly, disabled woman who used a wheelchair. The experience was extremely difficult for her, and she even fell off the boardwalk and got hurt. Naturally, her situation affected the experience for the whole group, slowing things down and imposing limitations. Everyone has the right to go on an excursion, but when a disabled person is involved, things need to be managed properly. Aside from that, the guide accompanying us was completely useless; apart from some information about the tour schedule and a couple of trivia tidbits about a fruit and some turtles, he knew practically nothing
