Your journey: Eisenstadt, where we stroll the courtyards of the Esterházy Palace and the charming old town (palace interiors not included — see our "Haydn, Castles, Wine" tour for the full palace and fortress experience). Rust, the wine town of the storks, with nests on almost every chimney in summer. And the UNESCO-listed Lake Neusiedl, a vast steppe lake ringed with reeds. A tasting of Burgenland's famous red wines is included.

From here, we take a pleasant, easy stroll down towards the city center. We arrive at the magnificent Esterházy Palace. We will admire this baroque masterpiece from the outside, walk through the impressive courtyard, and explore the beautiful Palace Gardens (Schlosspark). Note: We focus on the exterior and the park. Since the palace opening hours vary significantly by season (often closed on weekdays in winter), admission tickets are not included.
