The distance of NIKKO is 2 hours and 30 minutes away from Tokyo one side.

  • Nikko Tosho-gu

    There is both tow shrines together ; 1. Shinto Shrine 2. Buddhist Shrine 3. Pagoda (36m) high. Travelers can visit easily all the said places. The place are near by. Nikko Toshogu Shrine enshrines the most famous samurai leader Tokugawa Ieyasu. Its carved and brilliantly decorated structures are part of the Shrines and Temples of Nikko UNESCO World Heritage site and the highlight of any visit to Tochigi. Tokugawa Ieyasu played a pivotal role in unifying Japan and is one of the most important figures in the nation's history. His rise to the status of shogun initiated the Edo period (1603-1867), which was the most peaceful and prosperous period in the long history of ancient Japan and propelled the merchant city of Edo towards its destiny as the world-renowned megalopolis of Tokyo . A year after his death, Tokugawa Ieyasu was enshrined at Nikko, elevating his status to divinity. Toshogu branch shrines spread throughout Japan.
  • Rinno-ji Temple

    Rinnō-ji Temple (輪王寺, Rinnō-ji) is one of the most significant and historically important temples in Nikkō, Japan. Founded: 766 AD by the Buddhist monk Shōdō Shōnin, who introduced Buddhism to the Nikkō area. The UNESCO World Heritage Site “Shrines and Temples of Nikkō” The main hall of Rinnō-ji, and one of the largest wooden buildings in the area. It houses three massive gilded wooden statues representing Buddhist manifestations of the three mountain deities of Nikkō: • Amida Nyorai (Amitabha) • Senju Kannon (Kannon with a thousand arms) • Batō Kannon (Horse-headed Kannon) 2. Shōyō-en Garden: A serene Japanese garden located behind Sanbutsudō, with a traditional landscape design. 3. Taiyūin Mausoleum (大猷院): The lavish mausoleum of Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty and grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Taiyūin is similar in style to the more famous Tōshō-gū Shrine but with more subdued elegance, fitting Buddhist aesthetics.

  • Shinkyo Bridge

    A beautiful Bridge calld Shinkyo Bridge or Red Bridge. The Shinkyo Bridge is the oldest bridge since Tokugawa era. The Shinkyo Bridge stands at the entrance to Nikko's shrines and temples, and technically belongs to Futarasan Shrine. The current Shinkyo was constructed in 1636, but a bridge of some kind had marked the same spot for much longer, although its exact origins are unclear. Until 1973, Shinkyo was off limit to the general public. It underwent extensive renovation works in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and visitors can now walk across the bridge and back for an entrance fee.
  • Kegon Falls

    Kegone Waterfalls is very famous in japan due to the geographically. It is almost 100 meters deep. there is also the elevator installed in 1930 to see the closest view of falls. The chuzenji Lake & chuzenji shrine over there. Lake is also beautiful and peaceful looks like the part of Paradise.
