A short ferry ride and an easy cycle through the north of the city and we’ll reach the Waterlands, the countryside just outside of Amsterdam. Soon it’s cows and farmers’ signs offering up freshly made ice cream or milk.
We'll discuss water and land management, see an old-school windmill, explain why the Dutch are so bike-crazed, and how they used these paths during the Second World War in search of the goods they needed to survive. There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way as we cruise through a few villages and stop to take it all in.
Because the Netherlands is relatively flat, one does not need to be in top shape to partake and the electric bike makes it a breeze. We'll spend most of our time outside the city for a relaxed cycle journey.

Julia our guide was lovely and a pleasure to spend time with great scenery and learning about the history of Amsterdam. We saw a part of the City which few tourists see. The ride was amazing and not too strenuous on good quality electric bikes which were very comfortable and easy to control.
Highly recommend this bike tour. Guide Corbyn was fantastic. Explained the use of the bikes and what we would be doing and provided an extensive amount of really interesting information about Amsterdam and its northern surrounds throughout the ride. It was nice to get out into the countryside and ride through small villages to the north of Amsterdam. Corbyn guided us safely throughout the ride but some experience riding bikes is probably recommended. I’m a 75 year old Australian woman who just rides bikes when in Europe and I was very comfortable. The E bikes provided are the best I’ve encountered yet when renting bikes in Europe.
