After meeting at your Pattaya hotel, this convenient and cost-effective
package allows you to tour the core of Bangkok, including the Grand Palace and
the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, with free time to explore Khaosan Road and
Asiatique, followed by a drop-off at Suvarnabhumi Airport after the tour. A
driver will handle your pickup in Pattaya, and you will meet your guide at the
Grand Palace for the tour, after which the driver will guide you through the
scheduled itinerary.

[Introduction to Historical Landmarks]

• Grand Palace
  
  The architecture served as the official residence of the King from the 18th
  century onwards. Construction began in 1782 during the reign of Rama I when
  the capital was moved from Thonburi to Bangkok, and the palace was
  continuously expanded through several renovation projects. However, the
  current King, Bhumibol Adulyadej, does not reside here but at the Chitralada
  Palace. This place, which is like the heart of the Thai people, has a
  fantastic and exotic atmosphere. The towering palaces, pavilions, and temples
  are all brilliantly decorated with gold leaf, ceramics, and glass, making them
  dazzling to behold.

  
  

• Temple of the Emerald Buddha
  
  Construction began in 1785 when Rama I moved the capital from Thonburi to
  Bangkok. The original name of Wat Phra Kaew was Wat Pa Yia, which means Bamboo
  Forest Temple, and bamboo still grows in every corner of the temple as it did
  in the past. Unlike other temples, there are no monks' quarters, only well-
  decorated temple buildings, Buddha statues, and pagodas. The central main hall
  is called the 'ubosoth', and it houses a mysterious 75cm-tall Emerald Buddha
  statue. There are three gates to enter the temple, and only the King and Queen
  can enter through the central gate. Although it is smaller than the other
  gates, it is the most important symbolic procedure for the Thai people.
