First, you will stop for a quick tour of an all-women’s agricultural co-operative and learn how these proud, resourceful women run their enterprise and why they decided to do so. Here you will see them making one of their local delicacies and be introduced to all their products. From there, after a relaxing walk through the village, you will visit a local winery and learn about various Rhodian grape varieties. Here, after sampling some local wines you will understand first-hand why Rhodes produces many award-winning wines. The highlight of the tour will be a cooking class from an expert local cook in the village who will share her secrets in making traditional, famous Greek dishes including tzatziki and aubergine salad. Learn how to make dolmadakia and Greek cheese pies too! Finally, you conclude your time in Apollona by feasting on the exceptional lunch that you and your fellow cooks have lovingly prepared. Before you leave Apollona, you will visit a traditional Greek Kafeneion and learn how to prepare the most traditional Greek Coffee and of course sample one for yourselves!
