- DAY 1 – Richmond Old Town – Salamanca – Mount Wellington – Brewery (exterior view) – Oyster Farm
Airport pick-up/hotel pick-up and drop-off:
Airport pick-up service: Pick-up service is available on the first day of the
tour. Please book a flight arriving in Hobart before 9:00 AM.
City hotel pick-up and drop-off: On the first day of your trip, you can choose
between complimentary airport pick-up or complimentary pick-up and drop-off
from designated hotels in Hobart city center (Best Western Hotel, Hobart City
Apartments, Crowne Plaza Hobart).
If you are not staying at the designated hotel, you will need to go to the
designated hotel on your own. Staff will contact you at least one day before
departure to reconfirm the meeting time and location.
This morning, we'll first drive to Richmond, one of Australia's best-preserved
towns. Here, you'll visit Australia's oldest stone arch bridge, built in 1823,
and a Catholic church dating back to 1836. The town's old bakeries and dessert
shops are also popular with tourists. It was also a filming location for the
Hong Kong film "Once Again." Next, we'll visit Salamanca Square. In the
afternoon, we'll ascend Mount Wellington (1270 meters above sea level), a
fantastic vantage point for panoramic views of Hobart and the surrounding sea.
Following that, we'll visit Australia's oldest brewery (exterior view only).
We'll also travel to Tasmania's famous oyster farm, where you can sample fresh
Pacific oysters (optional, at your own expense).
- DAY 2 - Bruny Island
Drive south through Hobart city center to the ferry terminal. A 20-minute
ferry ride will take you to Bruny Island. Drive along the coastline, winding
through forests, to the famous North-South Trail, a narrow path that connects
the south and north of Bruny Island like a thread, flanked by the vast ocean.
This is also a penguin colony. After lunch, visit an oyster farm on the island
to sample some of Tasmania's most delicious oysters (optional*). Explore the
bustling Adventure Bay on Bruny Island and look for the island's unique white
kangaroos. Hidden in the island's forests are small shops where you can enjoy
cheese, seafood, or even a glass of whiskey.
- DAY 3 – Mount Field National Park – Temperate Rainforest – Ross Falls – Horseshoe Falls – Royal Botanic Garden
In the morning, we'll first visit Mount Field National Park, Australia's
second oldest nature reserve and Tasmania's oldest, boasting some of the
world's best-preserved temperate rainforest. Here you'll find towering ancient
eucalyptus trees and the magnificent Russell Falls. Due to its lush forests
and high concentration of negative ions, it's known as a natural oxygen bar.
In the afternoon, we'll tour the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, established
in 1818, Australia's second oldest botanic garden. It houses a diverse array
of native plants, as well as those from Europe, Asia, Africa, and even
Antarctica. The orchid pavilion, often used as a wedding venue, is
particularly stunning with its abundance of flowers.
- DAY 4 – East Coast – Swansea – Wineglass Bay – Cox Bay
Tasmania's east coast is a dreamlike world. Blue skies, white clouds, colorful
waters, and vibrant reefs adorn the coastline, creating a breathtaking
spectacle. Wineglass Bay was voted one of the world's top ten beaches by the
American travel magazine Outside in 1999. However, Wineglass Bay is nestled
among mountains, its beauty hidden from view; visitors must climb to a high
vantage point and expend some effort to appreciate its splendor. The trip
includes a stop in the beautiful seaside town of Swansea, offering panoramic
views of Tasmania's east coast from various angles. (For driving safety, the
guide will not accompany you on the hike.)
- DAY 5 – Port Arthur Historic Sites – Tasman Arch – Devil's Kitchen – Checkerboard Rock – Blowhole
Airport pick-up/drop-off at designated hotel:
Airport transfer service: Airport transfer is provided on the last day of your
trip. We recommend booking a flight departing Hobart after 7:35 PM.
Transfer to city hotel: After the tour, you will be transferred to a
designated city hotel (Best Western Hotel, Hobart City Apartments, Crowne
Plaza Hobart).
Port Arthur is a colonial-era prison for convicts, the largest prison in the
Southern Hemisphere in the 19th century, and one of Australia's best-preserved
prison relics. Its rich history and the beautiful scenery of the Tasman
Peninsula make it one of Tasmania's most famous tourist attractions. Almost
every visitor to Tasmania makes a point of visiting Port Arthur (admission not
included). On the way to Port Arthur Prison, we will also visit four of the
Tasman Peninsula's natural wonders: Tasman Arches, Devil's Kitchen, Chessboard
Rock, and Blowhole.
(The itinerary order and tour duration may be adjusted due to objective
factors such as weather and traffic conditions on the day.)
Recommended hotels:
4-star: Best Western Hotel/Hobart City Apartments or similar
Please note: Tasman Arch and Devil's Kitchen will be undergoing upgrades and
renovations from April 15 to September 30, 2026. During this period, tours of
Tasman Arch and Devil's Kitchen will be cancelled.
