• Holders of driver's licenses issued by the following 7 countries/regions (Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, Slovenia, and Monaco) may drive in Japan for up to one year from the date of entry by presenting their license and a Japanese translation. Please bring these two documents along with the driver's passport to the shop to process the rental. Travelers from other countries must hold an International Driving Permit (IDP) and their passport to drive in Japan.

－ About Insurance －

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) (Included in the fee)

• Insurance will not cover the following situations:
  
  1. Failure to report to the police (no accident report from the police)
  
  2. Accidents caused while driving without a license, or under the influence
  of drugs, alcohol, or medication
  
  3. Accidents caused by a driver whose license was not submitted
  
  4. Damage or soiling of interior/exterior equipment not caused by a vehicle
  accident, or loss of keys
  
  5. Driving in areas prone to vehicle damage, such as riverbeds or forest
  trails
  
  6. Refueling with the wrong fuel & flat tires
  
  7. Fines & penalties resulting from violations of local Japanese traffic laws
  
  8. Accidents occurring after the scheduled rental period has expired

  
  

• Non-Operation Charge (NOC) Insurance (Included in the fee)
  
  The NOC insurance waives the compensation for business losses incurred by the
  rental company due to the vehicle being unavailable for rent.
  
  In the event of an accident, this insurance does not apply to cases where the
  police or the company were not notified, cases where insurance or compensation
  claims cannot be filed, accidents involving violations of the rental
  agreement, or accidents caused by unauthorized extension of the rental period.
  In such cases, the customer is responsible for compensating the rental company
  for business losses (20,000 - 50,000 JPY per accident, depending on the
  vehicle model).
