The Hozu River originates from the Tamba Highlands in the central area of
Kyoto Prefecture and surrounds the mountains of Kyoto to Kameoka, then crosses
a 16km canyon, and finally flows into the Yodo River through the Kamo River.

You have to do this activity. Catch the romantic Sagan train to Kameoka and then take this magnificent relaxing and interesting busy ride. The 3 man crew made it a pleasure with a mix of Japanese and English. Scenery is so interesting and the rapids make for a fun day
It was exhilarating and the boatmen were skilful and delightful while interacting with the guests on board. Couldn’t recommend enough to both the young and old.
