Participate in a 3 hour Estuary Tour. For most of the year, the lagoon is cut off from the sea by the beach and is full of red and white mangroves, whose tannins turn the water reddish in the shallow areas and black in deeper waters. The immense variety of wildlife found in this estuary, include hundreds of birds, whose songs will delight any nature enthusiast. Keep your eyes open for woodpeckers, kingfishers, storks, herons, cormorants, ducks and many others. You will also likely encounter crustaceans, turtles, deer, and iguanas. However, the main attraction at La Ventanilla are the crocodiles. During the rainy season (from April - November) the lagoon swells and meets the sea, which allows sea life such as sea turtles, dolphins and fish to enter the lagoon in order to feed on the crustaceans.

Enjoy your last day on the beautiful beach of La Ventanilla. We can also arrange activities such as horseback riding and bird watching tours. At 11:00am you will be checking out of your room. However, you are welcome to stay the rest of the day and enjoy the beach restaurant and bar.
