As you walk through Porta Libitinaria, the Gate of Death, this evening tour begins in the heart of Ancient Rome. The Colosseum rises before you, and with a small group, you’ll enjoy an unbeatable view of history’s most notorious arena and imagine the thrill of gladiators.


Next, explore Palatine Hill, dotted with remains of opulent palaces, and stroll past the Roman Forum, once the empire’s vibrant cultural and commercial heart. Your guide brings the stories of emperors, gladiators, and Roman life to life.


This small-group tour follows a relaxed pace, offering an atmospheric and memorable journey through Rome’s landmarks.


Please note that the Colosseum Legends Evening Walk includes exterior viewing only and does not enter the Colosseum or Roman Forum.


Start times may vary depending on ticket availability for the Colosseum or Forum/Palatine Hill. Colosseum admission is free on the first Sunday of the month, with discounted tour rates on these days.

    Enter where the Roman fighters would only exit... through "Libitinaria" The Gate of Death! You will take a unique passageway with special access through the side of the Colosseum while avoiding the public crowds at the main entrance. Stand upon the reconstructed Arena floor in the centre of this ancient fighting pit. Walk in the path of Rome's famous Gladiators and have your expert guide tell their stories and famous events that occurred inside the colossal walls of the Colosseum.

  • Palatine Hill

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Included
    The most beautiful and important of Romes seven hills is the Palatine Hill. Discover the founding point of one of the greatest civilizations and explore the ancient ruins of the Imperial palace; let our guides unveil this spectacular archaeological site where the ruins, the towering pine trees and the spectacular views over the Circus Maximus and the Roman Forum make it a once in a lifetime experience!

  • Roman Forum

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Included
    The political, social, and commercial heart of downtown Rome is not to be missed! Walk the original roman roads (the via sacra and via nova) and weave between ornate arches, towering temples, and lots more! Although there is less than half of the forum complete today, let our guides do a fantastic job of filling in the blanks for you and restore the city to its former glory.
