It's named after the Tiananmen Gate (Gate of Heavenly Peace) located to its North, separating it from the Forbidden City. Tip: the Forbidden City ticket can be booked 1 week before. If it is sold out, you will do the Jinshan Hill to have a bird view of the Forbidden City and your guide will take you to the place where quite close to it.
