Day 1: You will be transferred from Yerevan/Zvartnots airport to Lori Province and be welcomed by coffee/tea and fresh fruits in the rafting house. After getteing the instructions, you will take half rafting tour on Debed River. Following lunch in a cozy restaurant, you will begin to uncover the first UNESCO Sites in Armenia. Exlpore the 10-13th cc Haghpat monastery, located on a uppervhillside rising above the canyon. Then you will take an hour hike towards the hilltop Kayan fortress. The area opens panoramic views over the entire canyon. Dinner and camping on the shore of the Lake Tsover. The area give opportunity for birdwatching, paddling, archery and other outdoor activities.
Next morning starts by taking 2-3 hour horseback riding tour through wooded hillsides and valleys. Along the way you will visit Tumanyan House-museum. You may also notice a lot of predatory birds like eagles and falcons, perched at the edge of the rocky cliffs. After a picnic lunch, you will take a hike (1.5 hour) down the verdant gorge to the bottom of the Debed Canyon. Along the way explore the 12th-century St Gregory M, hidden in a dens forest. Transfer back to your pick-up location.
