Normally hidden from outsiders, we are doing this special charity project to help the young geisha afford their training in the crucial first year after they start in their geisha career, as part of our revival of the Fukagawa geisha district. Learn about the traditional application of ‘oshiroi’ the white makeup that geisha use, and how it has evolved with the evolving role of the geisha.
