Very few penguins as they were all apparently on honeymoon
The venue is located in an island around 2 hours away from the city of Melbourne. Small penguins walk out of the sea and track the path to their burrows every night. Remember the place is open to air and it started raining and there was no shelter for at least 700m and it gets really difficult with an infant to manage. The penguins are so small that without a binocular, they are barely visible and you just sit there and see small shadows move around. Staff and their service was great, they strictly control use of mobile phones. The biggest let down was the open to air seating arrangement. For the fees they charge and the crowd that comes, having a make shift overhead ceiling/cover wouldn’t be much difficult.
