e booked our tickets for the second Kecak dance show through Pelago. The highlight was definitely the awesome sunset experience from the cliff—it makes the entire trip worth it. Be prepared for logistics, though. The traffic traveling from Kuta is quite heavy, so leave early to account for delays. Because we went to the second show, there was a massive crowd, and navigating our way into the amphitheater was an experience in itself. Also, a warning about the monkeys: they are notorious for picking up loose items like sunglasses and mobile phones, so keep your valuables secured! Thankfully, the ground staff is actively watching and ready to help if the monkeys get too bold.

The show itself was brilliant, especially if you have not seen an authentic Kecak dance before. This is definitely a must-do when in Bali. My biggest issue was the lack of crowd control on-site. People were crammed together trying to get into the venue for the second show, and since there was no clear queue, it was easy for others to cut in line. As a result, waiting for the second show is very claustrophobic and entering the venue itself was quite an unpleasant experience. There were essentially ~10 "lines" merging into just two ticket checkers at the entrance.
