It was a overall great experience. Aquarium is well maintained and staff is helpful. Lots of different species of animals are there along with fish.
Great day at Cairns Aquarium! Very informative and huge range of animals inhabiting the rainforest and reef.
Good experience
What stood out most for us were the talks organised throughout the day. The presenters were knowledgeable, engaging and approachable, explaining the animals, habitats and conservation issues in a way that was interesting and easy for both adults and children to understand. The talks really brought the exhibits to life and made our visit much more meaningful than simply walking around and looking at the displays. We also appreciated how the aquarium takes visitors on a journey through the rivers, rainforest, mangroves, Great Barrier Reef and deeper waters of Tropical North Queensland. The exhibits were clean, modern and thoughtfully presented, with an impressive variety of local marine and freshwater species. The staff were friendly and clearly passionate about the animals and their work. We recommend setting aside enough time to attend several of the presentations rather than rushing through. A memorable and worthwhile Cairns attraction for the whole family especially if you are not going to the reef.
