Located along Armenian Street, this beautifully restored building showcases the rich history, art, and traditions of Peranakan communities across Southeast Asia. From ornate jewelry and colorful ceramics to wedding costumes and traditional home décor, every gallery tells a story of blended cultures and timeless elegance.
Spread across three floors, the museum’s thematic galleries explore the origins, home life, and evolving identity of the Peranakans. Good little museum, with a great shop and visitor facilities. I suggest providing some way for people without bottles to drink water from the dispenser.
Very enlightening . Well worth the visit.
Beautiful old building, great curation of items depicting Peranakan customs and the influence of different regions. Worth timing your visit with a guided tour. Sylvia who led ours, was fabulous in making it interactive and engaging for different age groups.
The revamped museum becomes more interactive and easy to follow through! I love how it is curated and there are some hidden surprises in my PoV of how the new and old interpretation of peranakan co-exist. Definitely recommend !
Fascinating insight into the ingredients that went into the cultural pot that makes up Singapore. Well with the visit if you are interested in culture migration the way of life. Community building and arts and crafts.
Great, well curated exhibition. Very helpful and friendly staff.
