The Langtang Valley is part of Langtang National Park and is the third most popular trekking destination in Nepal. The Langtang Valley’s small size and Sherpa culture in the shadow of the beautiful snowcapped peaks of the Langtang Mountain Range have made this place popular with visitors for years. This is a short trek that won’t short you on mountain views as well as fascinating local culture.
The Langtang Valley has been called by visitors the “Little Switzerland of Nepal” because of its similarities to the beauty of Switzerland. The lush, green farms of the Langtang Valley is surrounded by the high snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas. Beautiful waterfalls and delicate wildflowers dot the trails while the crisp Himalayan air touches the senses. The skies are as blue as the snowcapped peaks stand in sharp contrast to the expansive beauty of the Langtang Mountains.

We quickly leave the noise and traffic of Kathmandu behind as we cross the hills of Shivapuri and find ourselves in green farmland. The trip northward passes through beautiful villages. TREK TO LAMA HOTEL (Elev. 2600 m/8,530 ft)

Look down at the Langtang Valley’s rich green valley below us. Look north toward Tibet. See amazing glaciers as well as snowcapped peaks. RETURN TO KATHMANDU
