Along the way you can view many of the historic sites from the peak of the Martha Gold mine's operating days including the Victoria Batteries where gold ore was broken down and processed before being transported out on the railway that now forms part of the trail you'll ride. You can take an optional tour to the Waikino museum and get a guided tour under the gold processing urns that were used to heat up gold ore before being processed. Ride beside the beautiful natural bubbling river all the way to Waihi.
