Make your own way to the meeting point at Plaza de la Villa. Listen to a brief introduction to the city and its tapas culture. Explore the stalls and tapas bars at Mercado de San Miguel. Try Spanish cheese, tortilla de patata, and a glass of vermouth at a local tavern under Plaza Mayor. Have Spanish chorizo and Madroño liquor at a tavern in La Latina. Pass by artisanal stores on the way back to the oldest part of Madrid. Taste the iconic bocadillo de calamares sandwich with local beer in Plaza Mayor.
