Excellent. I'll explain the process so you understand when trying to figure out which company / option to pick (as it was overwhelming for me when booking). Getting a good experience when you're looking to book basically any DMZ tour (as they all end up on the same buses, seeing the same things) comes down to getting to the 1st stop early and having a quality guide. Every guide must visit the first stop. For this reason, I can recommend this particular tour. The operator made sure we were first. Early day, but worth it. I noticed when booking, some tours have their times from 8am or similar. Don't risk it. Show up late, waste your money. The guide was fantastic and it was a much smaller group than other groups we saw. She was informative, accommodating and funny. The day before our tour, some groups missed out due to overcrowding (there are only a strict number of people allowed in to the DMZ per day, regardless of bookings), so the operator contacted us through whatsapp 2 days before and changed us to an earlier time. This ensured we got a spot and we all appreciated it. Communication was outstanding. Our group patrons were all punctual too so the day ran smooth. So you understand what you're booking, here's a breakdown: - leave on your bus from Seoul, about 90 minutes to the staging area (Peace Park). This is where the operator books tickets while you're free to roam and also later receive information from the guide. I'd describe it as being an area similar to a large truck stop / rest stop with sights, cafe's and shops. There's souvenirs here. I got swindled in the main building shop, don't go there. There's a smaller and cheaper option outside and also others later in the tour. - regardless of who you book with, you're then put onto other big buses and taken to the attraction parts in the DMZ. You go through a checkpoint where military soldiers check your passport. - places visited were the 3rd infiltration tunnel, observation deck (where you see into North Korea), unification town (a small town in the dmz which is basically just a toilet / refreshment stop), red suspension bridge. - there are food / coffee options on the way throughout the day so don't worry too much about bringing. - bring your camera. You will be clearly told when not to take photos, so don't worry. If you like informative, historical interesting tours on holidays, do not miss this one.
It was a good trip where I learned more on the background of DMZ even though I did some research prior to the trip. Jones, who I was the guide, was very knowledgeable and took great care of the team. The only drawback was that visits to the JSA is closed at a the moment, which is beyond the control of the tour operator. Otherwise the experience would have been complete and perfect. 😊 In any case, I recommend this tour.
Strongly recommend. Harry was knowledgeable and attentive to the group’s needs. Patient and able to help us gain better understanding of the history. Totally enjoyed this small group tour to DMZ
Really happy as we got what we wanted. We were transported in a small group to DMZ border (from there, you move to a larger bus to go inside of the zone). Great tour guide who did not try to imagine things but shared what he knows, acknowledging lack of information where he did not know for certain. All properly explained in a timely manner. Remember, tourists are not allowed to take photos of North Korean territory, even though there is not much to photograph from that distance. Enjoy the views and try imagining what it is like on the other side of the border. Dig into the history of two Koreas (I suggest some homework, too). And enjoy your tour!
A well organised and informative trip. Guide (Vincent) was attentive to everyone's needs. The program was also just right, giving everyone ample time at the locations. Do note that some walking is needed to hike up to the suspension bridge and at the 3rd tunnel.
Efficient pick up with clear instructions on where to meet. Tour guide Joo Ee was professional and informative! Highly recommended
