- Spot introduction -

  • Royal Palace (exterior)

The Royal Palace, the residence of the King of Malaysia, was built in November
2011 and moved from the old royal palace. The building itself is not
particularly large, but the sight of the white palace with a golden dome in
the middle, surrounded by tropical flowers and green trees, is very beautiful
and captivates visitors. On nights when ceremonies and festivals are held, the
palace is lit up and you can see its beautiful, shining appearance.
Unfortunately, you cannot enter the interior, but you can take a peek inside
    from the entrance.

  • National Monument This monument, standing at 15.54m, was designed by sculptor Felix de Weldon. It is a rare bronze statue standing on a hill north of Lake Gardens, and commemorates the soldiers who died in the battle against the Malaysian Communist Party.

  • National Mosque (exterior only on Fridays and Hari Raya holidays)

This new mosque was completed in 1965 and is considered the center of Islamic
events in Malaysia. It features a 73m-tall minaret in the center of a pond and
    a modern 18-sided star-shaped dome. These 18 corners symbolize Malaysia's 13
states and the five commandments of Islam. The temple took five years to build
and cost a massive sum of $10 million. You can tour the interior, but non-
Muslims are not allowed inside the main prayer hall.

  • Independence Square

This is the place where the Malaysian flag was raised from the British flag on
August 31, 1957, and where the country's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul
Rahman, declared independence. Currently, the world's tallest flagpole,
standing at 100m, is located here, with a giant flag fluttering in the wind.
Designed by a British architect in 1897, this building is one of the symbols
    of Kuala Lumpur.

  • Petronas Twin Towers (exterior)

We will take you to a spot where you can see the entire Twin Towers, and you
can take commemorative photos with this iconic Malaysian structure in the
    background.

  • Royal Palace (Istana Negara)

  • Each state in Malaysia has a king called the Sultan, who takes turns as king, called the Agong, every five years. You cannot enter the palace, but it is crowded with people wanting to catch a glimpse of the magnificent main gate.

  • National Monument

  • This 15m-tall bronze statue was created to commemorate the soldiers who died fighting communist guerrillas during the Malaysian War of Independence, which lasted for 12 years from 1949. It depicts a soldier fighting bravely, holding the Malaysian flag high.

  • National Mosque and Independence Square

  • Masjid Negara (National Mosque of Malaysia) is a vast mosque built in 1965 with a maximum capacity of 15,000 people and an area of 13 acres. Independence Square is also known as Merdeka Square, and its name comes from the fact that it is the place where Malaysia declared its independence from Britain on August 31, 1957.

  • Petronas Twin Towers (exterior)

  • These 452m-tall, 88-story twin buildings stand out as a symbol of Malaysia's economic development. The two towers were built by a Japanese and a Korean company, respectively, and were completed in just 29 months in 1988, which made headlines! Shaped like a mosque minaret, reflecting the country's Islamic roots, they are a landmark of Kuala Lumpur.
