The Swing Era Dance Workshop is a series of classes designed to teach participants the various styles of swing dance that were popular during the Swing Er (from the mid 1930s to the mid 1940s).
Do I need any prior dance experience to join the workshop?
No prior dance experience is required! The workshop is suitable for beginners, and experienced dancers can also benefit from advanced classes.
What should I wear to the workshop?
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Dance shoes or comfortable sneakers are recommended to ensure safety and ease of movement on the dance floor.
Will there be a performance at the end of the workshop?
Yes, there will be an opportunity for participants to showcase what they have learned in a friendly performance at the end of the workshop, but participation is optional.

The workshop is open to participants at least 17 years old.

What is the SG Culture Pass?
Launched during SG60, the SG Culture Pass is an initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) designed to encourage Singaporeans to support Singapore’s arts and heritage programmes.

Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above in 2025 will receive SG Culture Pass credits worth $100 in September 2025. These credits can be used to offset ticket purchases for eligible local arts and heritage activities and programmes offered through authorised ticketing partners like Pelago. The credits will be valid from 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2028, and must be used for events taking place on or before 31 December 2028.
