Trastevere means "beyond the river" and it is considered one of the most typical disctrict of Rome. Along this 2.5-hour tour you not only will discover Trastevere and its cosy alleys and hidden corners, but will sample the typical Italian and Roman street food. You will discover district's landmark such as the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere, risen around the first Christian community in Rome, Sistus Bridge, named after the pope who commissioned its restoration in 16th century, or Piazza Trilussa, dedicated to one of the most famous Roman dialect poet. This group tour will not exceed 14 people, so that instead of a tour, you will feel like wandering the city in a friendly atmosphere.

Unfortunately the one I booked was cancelled due to our guide being ill. While that meant we couldn’t do the tour wanted (unfortunately it was also for a special occasion) these things happen and the tour company did their best to re-accommodate our limited availability and we were put on an alternative tour.
