TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 | Yulara & Uluru Sunset

** First moments in the Red Centre and sunset at Australia’s most iconic
landmark
**

Our adventure begins at 2:00 pm in Yulara , where we meet our
Storyteller Guide before heading into Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park.

Our first stop is the Cultural Centre , where we learn about Aṉangu
culture
and the stories that make this one of Australia’s most significant
landscapes. It is the perfect introduction before experiencing Uluru itself.

After settling into camp, we head out for one of the most anticipated moments
of the journey, sunset over Uluru. As the afternoon light fades, the rock
transforms through deep reds, burnt orange and gold, standing proudly against
the vast desert landscape. It is a moment to slow down, take it all in and
appreciate just how special this place really is.

Back at camp, we share our first dinner together before rolling out our swags
beneath a sky filled with stars for our first night in the heart of the
Australian outback.

**"There is a reason people travel across the world to see Uluru, and
watching it for the first time rarely feels anything like you expect." **

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Ayers Rock Resort
Campground

Meals Included: Dinner

Distance Travelled: Approx. 60 km

Travelling from Alice Springs? Bus transfers to Yulara are available. See
"Know Before You Go" below for more details.

Day 2 | Kata Tjuṯa & Uluru

** Sacred Sites & Desert Connection** __

We start the morning early as we head towards Kata Tjuta, where the massive
domes rise dramatically from the desert and reveal a very different side of
the Red Centre. Holding deep cultural significance for the Aṉangu people, this
is one of the most important landscapes within the national park.

Here, we set out on the Walpa Gorge Walk, a 2.6 km trail leading between
towering rock formations, ancient creek beds and unique desert plant life,
offering a real sense of the scale and age of this remarkable landscape.

**“ Standing beneath Kata Tjuta makes you realise just how small you feel in
the middle of Australia.” **

Back at camp, there is time to relax, cool off in the pool or enjoy some of
the cultural experiences available around the resort.

Later, we return to Uluru for the guided Base Walk, giving us the chance to
experience Australia’s most iconic landmark from a completely different
perspective. Walking alongside the base reveals sacred sites, waterholes and
stories that help explain why Uluru remains such an important cultural place
today.

**“ Seeing Uluru up close is often the moment people begin understanding why
this place means so much to so many.” **

This evening is yours to enjoy, with the option to join the unforgettable
Field of Light experience after dark.

Accommodation: Swag camping at Ayers Rock Resort Campground

Meals Included: Breakfast

Distance Travelled: Approx. 170 km

Day 3 | Yulara to Kings Canyon / Watarrka

** Ancient Landscapes & Outback Legends** __

After breakfast, we leave Yulara behind and journey through the vast
landscapes of Central Australia towards Watarrka National Park , home to
the spectacular Kings Canyon. Along the way, our Storyteller Guide shares
stories about life in the Red Centre and the unique landscapes surrounding us.

By the afternoon, we arrive at Kings Creek Station , a working cattle
station and our base for the night. Depending on weather conditions and
seasonal park access, our Kings Canyon hiking experience may take place
later this afternoon or early the following morning, allowing us to make the
most of the conditions on the day.

Kings Canyon is one of those places that often catches people by surprise.
Towering sandstone cliffs, ancient rock formations and breathtaking views make
it one of the standout experiences of the Red Centre.

This part of Central Australia has a way of exceeding every expectation.

There is time to cool off in the pool or grab a drink before dinner at the
station. Tonight, we settle in for another night swag camping beneath some of
the clearest skies in the Australian outback.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Kings Creek Station

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Distance Travelled: Approx. 325 km

Day 4 | Kings Canyon to Coober Pedy

** Canyons, Crossings & Underground living** __

Today we begin the journey south, crossing back through the vast desert
landscapes of the Northern Territory and into South Australia. It is one of
the longer driving days of the trip, but this is where the scale of the
Australian outback really starts to sink in.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Coober Pedy, a place unlike anywhere else in
Australia. Known as the country’s opal capital, this small desert town is
famous for its extreme temperatures, with summer days regularly pushing beyond
50 degrees. To escape the heat, much of the town has been built underground,
with homes, bars, churches and hotels carved directly into the sandstone
hills.

The moment you arrive, Coober Pedy feels strange in the best possible way. It
is dusty, unconventional and full of character, giving a glimpse into a side
of Australia that very few travellers ever experience.

“ Sleeping underground in the middle of the outback is about as uniquely
Australian as it gets.” **
**

Tonight, we check into our underground accommodation at Radeka Downunder,
with the evening free to explore town and grab dinner at one of the local
spots nearby.

Accommodation: 5-share underground dorm at Radeka Downunder

Meals Included: Breakfast

Distance Travelled: Approx. 770 km

Day 5 | Coober Pedy to Ikara–Flinders Ranges

** Opals, Outback Roads & Starry Skies** __

After breakfast, we spend the morning exploring the underground world of
Coober Pedy with a visit to the Old Timers Mine. Here, we learn how opals
formed beneath the desert, hear stories from the generations of miners who
built this remarkable underground town, and try our luck noodling through the
red dirt in search of hidden opal fragments.

From here, we begin the journey south through the vast outback landscapes of
South Australia.

By late afternoon, we arrive at Warren Gorge, located within the spectacular
Southern Flinders Ranges, one of the oldest landscapes in Australia and a part
of the country surprisingly few international travellers ever experience. This
region feels quieter, wilder and far less travelled, with ancient geology,
native wildlife and deep Aboriginal history stretching back thousands of
years. Keep an eye out for the rare yellow footed rock wallabies, often seen
moving across the rocky hills surrounding camp.

**“ Just when most people think they have already seen the best of the
outback, the Flinders Ranges quietly proves otherwise.” **

Tonight, we settle in around camp for dinner prepared by our guide before
rolling out our swags beneath some of the clearest night skies anywhere in
Australia.

**“ Far from the crowds and city lights, this is the kind of outback camping
experience most travellers never realise Australia still offers.” **

Accommodation: Swag camping at Warren Gorge (toilets available, no
showers)

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Distance Travelled: Approx. 620 km

Day 6 | Ikara–Flinders Ranges National Park

** Ancient landscapes, outback wildlife and discovering the Flinders**

We wake up surrounded by the rugged scenery of Warren Gorge , where we
begin the day with a walk through one of the quieter corners of the
Southern Flinders Ranges. Keep an eye out for the rare yellow footed
rock wallabies
, often seen among the rocky hillsides.

From here, we continue to the outback town of Hawker , where there is
time to grab lunch and visit the Jeff Morgan Gallery , home to panoramic
artworks that celebrate the landscapes and history of the Australian outback.

Later, we arrive at Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park for the
Arkaroo Rock Walk , one of the region’s most significant cultural
experiences. The trail leads through native bushland to an ancient rock
shelter featuring Aboriginal artwork that tells the story of Akurra , the
giant serpent who shaped this landscape according to Adnyamathanha
tradition
.

The Flinders Ranges is one of those places that quietly surprises people
and often becomes a highlight they never expected.

Tonight, we settle into camp at Wilpena Pound , where, depending on
timing and availability, there may be opportunities to learn more about local
Yura culture before enjoying dinner beneath one of Australia’s certified
Dark Sky Reserves.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Discovery Parks Wilpena
Pound

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Distance Travelled: Approx. 200 km

Day 7 | Ikara–Flinders Ranges to Adelaide

** Hidden country towns, local flavours and one final day on the road**

We leave the Flinders Ranges early this morning, but the adventure is far from
over. Today takes us through some of South Australia’s hidden country towns,
local history and famous wine regions before returning to Adelaide.

Our first stop is Orroroo, home to the famous Giant Red Gum Tree, before
continuing south to the historic mining town of Burra. Here, stories of
Cornish miners, early settlers and South Australia’s copper boom offer a
glimpse into a fascinating part of the state’s history. Not far from here, we
stop at Farrell Flat, where colourful silo art adds another unique stop along
the journey.

From here, we make our way into the renowned Clare Valley for a relaxed wine
tasting and a chance to experience one of Australia’s best known wine regions.

**“ By this point, most people realise this trip has shown them far more of
Australia than they ever expected.” **

The afternoon continues through the Barossa Valley, where local coffee, gelato
and a final stop at the Whispering Wall wrap up the journey before arriving
back in Adelaide around 6:30 pm.

“ Sometimes the places you know the least about end up leaving the biggest
impression.”

Meals Included: Breakfast

Distance Travelled: Approx. 600 km
