Hisor is a city in western Tajikistan, approximately 45 km west of Dushanbe. It is located at an altitude of 799–824 meters above sea level, surrounded by high mountains. The Hisor fortress, the residence of the Bukhara ruler, is believed to have existed as early as the time of Cyrus the Great and was captured twenty-one times.

Felt it was as very rushed and didn’t see everything on the itinerary- didn’t go to the museum in Hissar town only the one at the fortress in the Medrassa. The guide seemed in a great hurry to get finished with me so he could get on to the next group of people coming. I liked it but felt a bit disappointed.
