Pelago offers a complimentary eSIM in collaboration with Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group, available to KrisFlyer members with an upcoming SIA/Scoot flight.

This article is only for the SIA Complimentary eSIM offered to KrisFlyer members with an upcoming SIA/Scoot flight, and covers how to redeem your complimentary eSIM and addresses common issues to help you get connected smoothly.


Step-by-Step Guide to Redeem Complimentary eSIM

  1. Book your flight on singaporeair.com or flyscoot.com

  2. Ensure that your KrisFlyer account is linked to your flight PNR

  3. Log in to Pelago with your KrisFlyer account

  4. Click on [this] link to the eSIM page

  5. Select the "Singapore Airlines Exclusive: 2GB for 3 Days" option

  6. Apply the required promo code at checkout

  7. Receive your confirmation voucher in your booking e-mail

📝 Important: Redemptions for the SIA complimentary eSIMs are limited, so be sure to claim and redeem your promo code and use it before it runs out!


Step-by-Step Guide to Activate the SIA Complimentary eSIM

Note: This guide is only for the SIA Complimentary eSIM offered to KrisFlyer members. Do not use this guide for Pelago eSIMs or any other eSIMs purchased on Pelago.

If you selected "For myself" during booking checkout:

  1. Download the Pelago App on your device

  2. Log in to the Pelago App using the same email ID used for your SIA/Scoot booking

  3. On the home page, locate your SIA Complimentary eSIM and click "Install eSIM"

  4. After the eSIM is successfully installed:

    • Go to Settings → Mobile Data / Cellular

    • Ensure that both the eSIM and Data Roaming is switched off

  5. Your plan will automatically start the first time your device connects to a network in a covered country, including your home country

If you selected "For someone else" during booking checkout:

  1. You will receive the eSIM QR code via the booking email

  2. Scan the QR code on your preferred device, or click the activation link (iOS 17.4 and newer only)

  3. After the eSIM is successfully installed:

    • Go to Settings → Mobile Data / Cellular

    • Ensure that both the eSIM and Data Roaming is switched off

  4. The plan will automatically start upon first network connection in a covered country, including the home country

Eligibility & Requirements

Who is eligible for the SIA Complimentary eSIM?

To qualify for the SIA Complimentary eSIM, you must:

  • Be logged in to your KrisFlyer account on Pelago

  • Have your flight PNR linked to your KrisFlyer account

  • Have a valid Singapore Airlines or Scoot booking for a future flight between 1 Jan 2026 and 31 Dec 2026

✅ Your booking date must fall within this period, and the flight must be scheduled in the future.

How do I check if my KrisFlyer account is linked to my flight PNR?

You can easily check by visiting the Manage Booking page for your airline:

  1. Go to the SIA or Scoot Manage Booking page

  2. Enter your booking reference (PNR) and last name

  3. Look for your KrisFlyer account number in the passenger details section

I booked my flight via a third-party platform. Am I still eligible for the SIA Complimentary eSIM?

Yes, you are eligible as long as:

  • The flight is operated by Singapore Airlines or Scoot

  • Your KrisFlyer account number is linked to your flight PNR

Even if your booking was made through a third-party platform, you can still claim the complimentary eSIM if these conditions are met.

I have a past-dated SIA or Scoot flight. Am I eligible?

No. Only future-dated flights qualify for the complimentary eSIM.


Promo Code & Error Messages

My complimentary eSIM promo code isn’t working

If your promo code isn’t working, please check the following:

  • You entered the promo code exactly as provided

  • There are no extra spaces before or after the code

  • The code is applied to the correct product or option

  • You are logged in with the same KrisFlyer account linked to your flight PNR

If the promo code still doesn’t work, it helps us assist you more effectively if you can:

  • Specify the exact error message you see, or

  • Describe what happens when you try to apply the code

This information allows us to troubleshoot the issue more accurately.

Error: “You are not eligible for this deal” or “Check Eligibility” (SIA Complimentary eSIM promo code)

If you don’t see a “Book now” or “Check availability” button and instead see “Check Eligibility”, or if you encounter the error message “You are not eligible for this deal”, please try the steps below.

What you can do

  • Try a different browser: If you’re using Safari on your mobile device or desktop, please try switching to Google Chrome and attempt the booking again.

  • Confirm you’re logged in correctly: Ensure you’re logged in to Pelago using your KrisFlyer account.

  • Check your flight details

    • Your flight is future-dated from your booking date and scheduled on or before 31 Dec 2026

    • Your flight PNR is linked to your KrisFlyer account and saved to your booking

  • Allow time for syncing

    • If you’ve just booked your flight, please wait at least 30 minutes for the details to sync.

      • After waiting, log out of Pelago

      • Log back in using your KrisFlyer account and try again

If the issue persists

If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, it’s likely that our system is unable to confirm your eligibility for the deal. This can happen if:

  • Your flight has already passed

  • Your KrisFlyer membership is not linked to the flight PNR

  • The KrisFlyer account you’re logged in with does not match the PNR saved in your booking

Error: “Fully Redeemed” (SIA Complimentary eSIM promo code)

When this appears

This error is shown when the SIA Complimentary eSIM promo code cannot be applied because:

  • The promo code has already reached its maximum redemption limit, or

  • Our system has detected that the promo code has already been used

Please note: The promo code can only be redeemed once per Pelago account user, in line with the campaign's Terms & Conditions

What this means

Unfortunately, in this case, the promo code is no longer valid for use on your booking and cannot be applied again.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Error: “Verification Failed” (SIA Complimentary eSIM promo code)

When this appears
This error occurs when there is a mismatch between the mobile number linked to your Pelago account and the mobile number entered during checkout.

What you can do
To successfully apply the promo code, please ensure that:

  • The mobile number entered at checkout matches the mobile number saved in your Pelago account

If the details are correct but the issue persists:

  • Exit the page and try again after 10 minutes


Booking, Voucher & Delivery

I still have not received my confirmation voucher for my complimentary eSIM

You should have received a Pelago confirmation email with your Complimentary eSIM voucher attached. Look for the email with the title: ‘Booking confirmed: Singapore Airlines Exclusive: Global Roaming eSIM for 118 countries’.

If you have not received the complimentary eSIM, here’s what you can do:

  • Look for an email titled “Frewie Prepaid eSIM – Setup and Activate eSIM Service”.

  • Check your spam or junk folder in case the email landed there.

Installation, Activation & Usage

Why does my Pelago App show that my eSIM will expire sooner than expected

Note: You can only view data usage on the Pelago App if you selected “For Myself” at checkout.

If your eSIM is showing an earlier expiry date than expected, it may have been activated prematurely.

  • The SIA Complimentary 2GB eSIM is a global eSIM, and the plan starts automatically the first time your device connects to a network in a covered country, including your home country

  • Early activation can make it appear that your eSIM expires sooner, even if you intended the eSIM to only start from the date you selected during your booking process

  • For example, if you activate your eSIM at 10:00 AM on a Monday, the plan will expire at 10:00 AM on Thursday, completing the 72-hour period.

Can I install or activate my eSIM on a different date?

Yes! You can install your eSIM anytime after receiving your QR code.

  • Activation: The eSIM only activates when you first use it (for example, when it connects to a supported network).

  • Activity date: The date you selected during booking is just for reference and does not affect when you can use your eSIM.

  • Example: If you activate your eSIM at 8:00 PM on a Friday, it will remain valid until 8:00 PM on the following Monday, covering the full 72-hour period.

So if you want to use your eSIM earlier than your selected date, you can do so! Just make sure it’s within the QR code’s validity period.

I selected the wrong country of activation at checkout

Rest assured that you will still be able to activate the complimentary eSIM from your actual country of use, as long as it is one of the 118 countries listed under Global Coverage on the product page.

Do I need to visit a physical counter to redeem my eSIM?

No need! Redemption of the complimentary eSIM is fully online and there is no need to visit any physical counter.

What should I do if the QR Code for my complimentary eSIM code doesn’t work?

If you’re having trouble installing your complimentary eSIM, try the following steps:

  • Check that your device supports eSIMs. You can view the list of compatible devices [here]

  • Make sure you’ve scanned the correct QR code provided in the confirmation voucher

  • If you’ve scanned the QR code and are still unable to install the eSIM on your phone, please reach out to Frewie support for the quickest help!

What does “activation” mean?

Activation occurs when:

  • The eSIM is installed on your device and

  • Data roaming is switched ON for the eSIM in your device settings

The plan will automatically start when your device connects to a supported network in a covered country, including your home country.


Validity & Expiry

How long is the SIA Complimentary Global eSIM valid for?

The validity of your 2GB SIA Complimentary Global eSIM depends on whether it has been installed and activated.

  • If you haven’t installed or activated the eSIM yet

    • Your eSIM is valid for 1 month from the purchase date

    • You must install and activate the eSIM within 1 month of receiving your QR code or confirmation voucher

    • If the eSIM is not installed within this period, it will expire and cannot be used

  • Once the eSIM is installed and activated

    • Your eSIM will be valid for 3 days, or until the 2GB data allowance is fully used (whichever comes first)

    • The validity starts from the date of activation
