How to Redeem and Activate Your Complimentary SIA / KrisFlyer eSIM

This guide applies only to the Singapore Airlines (SIA) / KrisFlyer (KF) Complimentary eSIM and explains how to redeem and activate your complimentary eSIM.

What is it?

Pelago offers 2 types of complimentary global eSIM options for KrisFlyer members:

  • Singapore Airlines Exclusive

    • Data: 2GB

    • Validity: 3 days (from activation)

    • Eligibility: KrisFlyer members with an upcoming Singapore Airlines or Scoot flight

  • KrisFlyer Exclusive

    • Data: 1GB

    • Validity: 3 days (from activation)

    • Eligibility: All KrisFlyer members, regardless of airline

Important

  • You will need to log in to Pelago App / Web using your KrisFlyer account to redeem the complimentary eSIM

  • The complimentary eSIM is not automatically added to your account

  • You must redeem the eSIM first, by placing a booking and applying the required promo code at checkout.

  • After a successful booking, you will receive a confirmation voucher with a QR code.

  • Use the QR code to install and activate the eSIM on your device.

How to Redeem Your Complimentary eSIM

You will need to complete the redemption process before installing and activating your complimentary eSIM.

Which option are you redeeming?

  • Singapore Airlines Exclusive (2GB, 3 days): Follow Steps 1 - 6

  • KrisFlyer Exclusive (1GB, 3 days): Skip Steps 1 - 2 and start from Step 3

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Book your flight on singaporeair.com or flyscoot.com
    ​

  2. Ensure that your flight is linked to your KrisFlyer account
    ​

  3. Click on [this] link to visit the Complimentary eSIM page

  4. Log in to Pelago using your KrisFlyer Account by clicking on the "Log in to KrisFlyer" button

  5. Select your preferred option:

    1. Singapore Airlines Exclusive: 2GB for 3 Days; OR

    2. KrisFlyer Exclusive: 1GB for 3 Days

  6. At checkout, apply the required promo code

  7. Complete your booking
    ​

  8. Receive your confirmation voucher in your booking e-mail

📝 Important: Redemptions for the SIA complimentary eSIMs are limited, so be sure to claim and redeem your promo code and use it before it runs out!

Step-by-Step: How to Install and Activate Your Complimentary eSIM

Note: This activation guide applies only to the SIA Complimentary eSIM. Do not use this guide for Pelago eSIMs or other eSIMs purchased on Pelago.

Before You Start

We recommend installing and activating your Global eSIM only when you are at your destination country and connected to a strong, stable Wi-Fi connection.

This is because your plan will automatically start the first time your device connects to a supported network in a covered country. In some cases, this may happen even during installation, which could cause the plan to start earlier than intended.

If you selected "For myself" during booking checkout:

  1. Download the Pelago app on your device

  2. Log in to the Pelago app using your KrisFlyer account

  3. On the home screen of your Pelago App, locate your Global eSIM and tap “Install eSIM”

    1. Allow your phone's system to complete the installation

  4. Return to the Pelago app. You’ll see a confirmation that your eSIM has been successfully installed.

If you selected "For someone else" during booking checkout:

  1. Locate the eSIM QR code in your booking confirmation email

  2. Scan the QR code on the intended device

    1. Or tap the activation link (iOS 17.4 and newer)

After installation

  1. Tap “Activate” in the Pelago app

  2. Go to your phone Settings → Connection → Mobile Data / Cellular and ensure that:

    1. The eSIM plan is switched ON

    2. Data roaming is switched ON
